You got to press and hold a couple of times for the cord to retract completely. The cord is thin, as are most of these retractable charges, so you must be careful. Also disappointed that this item gets VERY HOT. I'm glad I paid a little over $2 plus shipping. Not happy that the shipping was more than the actual device.
