This is a WONDERFUL cookbook. It is loaded with healthy recipes that really taste good. Each page is beautifully illustrated with a color photograph of the dish being featured. My husband and I both love fish and I was very pleased to learn how many fish and seafood dishes are contained in this book. In fact, when I prepare fish (at least once or twice a week) it is THIS cookbook to which I first turn. Try the SEARED TILAPIA WITH LEMON-TARRAGON SAUCE or the BROILED HALIBUT WITH BALSAMIC GLAZE. Then for shellfish try the SHRIMP AND PEANUT STIR FRY or the SHRIMP PAELLA. Mmmm good! There are some lovely chicken recipes I have yet to try but their descriptions really sound interesting. There are also delectable recipes for veal, flank steak, pepper steak and pork tenderloin as well as some exotic soups and mouth watering salads and even desserts. I could go on and on but what I recommend is to try it for yourself. You will treasure for years to come! Especially IF YOU LIKE TO COOK! (and cook healthy of course…)

I have many “diet” cookbooks. This is one I will use alot. It has directions that are easy to follow…ingredients that most people have in their pantries…and recipes that your family will eat

I have always like Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks and they came through again in this one. The nutritional information at the beginning is helpful, esp. to beginning dieters, and the recipes use ordinary ingredients I can find at my grocery store, and do not require special skills in preparation. One of the best features is that there is a photo of every dish.
My only complaint is Amazon packaging. This is the 2nd book I’ve received that is beat up. They do not give me a place to tell them about it so I will mention it here. The box was way too big for the item – which would have been fine if there had been sufficient wrapping around the cookbook. There was a little bit of wrapping in the box, it had been loosely wrapped around the book but had come off in transit and did nothing to cushion anything. The book rattled around in the box. The box itself had dents and gashes, and my book has a dent in the binding. Like I mentioned, this is the second time this has happened.

The recipes in this book are the best I’ve had, outrageous. I don’t like to cook (to put it lightly#, but the meals come out so tasty and healthy, that I find myself planning my menu for the week and actually following it. The only reason I give this book a four is that the pages sometimes stick together and seem a bit fragile. One drop of water on the page #and it does happen in a kitchen) and the page is warped in seconds. The paper stock is unforgiving. I’d buy this book with better quality paper in a minute. Until then… I love this book and will figure something out to preserve it.

This is not some fad-diet cookbook. This is what healthy eating should be. Instead of telling you to avoid eating certain kinds of foods, this book celebrates food. Probably the book’s most attractive feature is its sheer number of recipes. I’ve found that the recipes tend to rely on herbs, seasoning, or an occasional exotic ingredient to give an otherwise plain meal a real kick. Most of the recipes are easy to prepare (although they often require time), and the ingredient lists are short. This cookbook would be great for anybody who wants to eat well, but especially for someone who’s new to cooking healthfully because the recipes are fairly simple, and the variety means that there’s something for everyone. On a technical note, I love that there are color photos of each recipe, and the book is spiral-bound so it lies flat on the counter.
